Matched Betting Normality Moves Closer After Coronavirus Pandemic

The lack of sporting action over the last few weeks because of the coronavirus pandemic has had a massive impact on matched betting.

Obviously there are far bigger and more important issues to take into consideration here, but if you do rely on matched betting for a proportion of your income, the coronavirus will be having a further impact on your life.

Easing Of Coronavirus Lockdown Means More Matched Betting Opportunities

There is good news on the horizon though, at least from a sporting and matched betting point of view anyway.

Live sport is gradually starting to return to our lives, and that means more matched betting opportunities.

In May we seen the return of the German Bundesliga, bringing us some real top flight football to bet on. No offence to the Belarusian Premier League (which was still going on throughout the pandemic), but I’m pretty sure the majority of us would rather be following the Bundesliga.

So what sporting events do we now have available that can potentially be used for matched betting?

In the UK we now have regular horse racing back, with the first meetings taking place on Monday 1st June.

This means the return of the bet365 featured race, and then on Saturday there is live racing again on ITV. This means the bet365 ITV 4/1 offer can be used again for matched betting.

Return Of English Top Flight Football

We now know that top flight football will be returning in England’s top 2 divisions. And as an added bonus, the FA Cup is also returning as well.

All the Premier League matches will be screened live, with some even on the BBC. This opens up a whole lot more matched betting chances, with the 2 up offers, and money back specials again becoming available.

What We Know So Far About Football Returning

These are still a lot of hurdles to cross before the return of football in England finally happens.

Player’s testing needs to continue, and there is always the threat of a second wave of the virus returning to kibosh all the best made plans.

Numerous hurdles have already been crossed though. As I already alluded too, players have been getting tested. They have also stepped up training, and now the government have announced that sport can resume behind closed doors.

with football set to resume in empty stadiums, we can step up our matched betting

So here’s what we know so far –

  • 17th June – Premier League to return
  • 20th June – Championship to return
  • 27th June – FA Cup to return

As we previously mentioned, these are the dates that have been pencilled in. A lot can change in that time, but a quick look across at our German neighbours shows it can be done.

As all remaining 92 Premier League matches are to be shown live on TV, this also means the bookmakers will be doing their level best to drum up business.

They will be desperately looking to recoup some of their recent losses from the past 2 to 3 months. So could this mean even better sign up offers and reload offers (existing customer offers)? Who knows!

Just getting more and more live sport back means a return to normality for matched betting. But if the bookies are going to get into a battle royal for our business, it could lead to a matched betting bonanza over the next few weeks.
